Tokyo Marathon

The Tokyo Marathon is an annual marathon sporting event in Tokyo, the capital of Japan and it is the largest marathon race in Asia. The event has about 30,000 places for the marathon, for which almost 300,000 people apply, with final selections based on a lottery. The race starts at the Metropolitan Government building in Shinjuku and ends at the Imperial Palace not far from Tokyo Station. The attractively designed route passes several of Tokyo’s main tourist spots, including the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, Asakusa and Ginza.
